Aside from having my master's degree in information technology and game design, I have taught kids and adults in some form or another for most of my adult life. I've taught in school, homeschool, and informal settings, large classes and one-on-one coaching. I've developed curricula and lesson plans both for my classes and for others'. I love teaching, and students have said that I'm fun, funny, nerdy, passionate, and creative. My expertise lies in technology, particularly in the following ar...

Ian is patient, creative, and knowledgeable. He is also willing to repeat lessons as needed for our learning disabled college student son.
Kerstein P. from Astoria, NY
Ian was awesome! I understood more from him in 3 hours than 3 weeks of classes on Javascript. He helped me break down creating a game for an assignment, in a way that wasn't overwhelming but rather manageable. Ian asked me the right questions to help me think about what I had to do and how, and made sure I understood. He was very thoughtful about managing our time and didn't mind having to go over things again. Ian even pointed me to resources and how to use them properly. I would and probably will have him review lessons with me again.
Penelope L. from Elmhurst, NY
Ian is informative and patient, and with very good aesthetics. He gave me a lot of helpful suggestions and instructions about my graphic design portfolio. I'm grateful about his help.
Caroline B. from North Hollywood, CA
Ian is terrific. Learning coding for Javascript & JQuery can be a difficult process. He is not only highly skilled, but has a great sense of humor, and an ability to communicate, which is very important to me when learning something new. I will certainly be a regular student of Ian.

Carina W. from Ridgewood, NY
Ian has been really helpful explaining logic to me that seemed overwhelming to me at first. After breaking down the process of needed functionality I had a better idea of how to accomplish the task and in the process filled in some educational gaps when in came to Javascript. He taught me some nifty calls that I wished I would have known about beforehand and was just really pleasant and easy to talk to. Great experience.

Ian is a great tutor and a Javascript specialist. He helped me in my projects with the syntax, but also, with the overhaul thought process and how to approach the construction of a program.

Ian was very patient with my less than rudimentary understanding of JavaScript and helped me get started in the process of learning it. I would recommend him to anyone else grappling with computer code, etc. He is very knowledgeable.

Ian did a great job of not only giving me an easier way to understand JS, but he was wonderful in answering questions about the coding world, what to expect moving forward after my coding course, and some good practices. I would certainly book with Ian again.

Ian is great. He is my go to tutor. He takes the time to understand/listen to the problem, proposes his solution/explains his solution/walks you through it and it always works great. Highly recommend him!

Ian helped me better understand display: inline and display: inline-block and display: block. He taught me about which elements have which display defaults. We also discussed creating more specific selectors for css rules to override other rules, parent and child selectors, direct child selectors. The lesson overall helped to better debug css.
